Functions, safeness and application to cosmetics of collagen tripeptide (CTP) produced from Japanese pig skin

Collagen tripeptide (CTP) has been produced using the advanced biotechnological techniques developed by Miyagi Chemical Industrial, Co., Ltd., and suits the standard for "Hydrolyzed Collagen" of JCIC/JSQI. Because raw material of CTP is purified collagen from japanese pig skin, it is excellent for safeness, and then, a risk for BSE is more reduced. Also, it was found that CTP was the extremely low incidence of allergic reaction upon its application to the human skin. CTP mainly contains the tripeptide components, which were not detected in the conventional collagen peptide, and in addition, micro-autoradiography confirmed that the tripeptide efficiently permeated into the stratum corneum, epidermis and dermal layer (corium). Moreover, it was verified that collagen synthesis of the human fibroblast which exists in the corium was augmented by the tripeptide components of CTP. So, the skin lotion mixing of CTP has good effect for skin elasticity and moisture, and improve rough skin. From the above results, it was indicated that CTP contributed to skin care in both surface and inside of the skin.
