摘要

The manufacturing process of porcine placenta extract (p-PE) which is used for cosmetic ingredient was established. Placenta of porcine bred in specific pathogen free circumstances (SPF porcine) was found suitable to reduce any risk of pthogenic contamination in manufacturing p-PE. The step of elimination of hydrophobic component was effective to eliminate steroid hormone from p-PE. Biological characterization of p-PE which was manufactured by this established process was also carried out. Significant correlation was found between free amino acid ratio of p-PE and that of bovine-PE(b-PE). P-PE inhibited significantly dopa oxidase activity of mushroom tyrosinase and melanogenesis of B16 melanoma cell dose-dependently. This biological activity, that is "whiting activity", was significantly higher than that of b-PE.
