Prediction of the strong wind occurrence around the development area using topographical and tree factors

摘要

Land deformation and tree felling caused by development bring various influences on the wind flow around the development areas. The conditions of topographical features that affects the wine flow were defined as topographical factors. And the decrease in the wind velocity by trees was defined as a tree factor. More than 4m/s of wind velocity was defined as the strong wind in consideration of the impact on the living environment. Statistical study by multiple regression analysis was conducted to investigate the relation between the strong wind occurrence and those factors at the AMeDAS weather stations in the Tohoku district of Japan. As a result, regression equations were obtained for the flatland mixed with mountain on the Japan Sea side. Using the prediction formulas, authors predicted the change of the strong wind occurrence at the development area which bad land deformation. As a result, it was clear that the strong wind occurrence decreased in the development area and increased around the development area caused by land deformation and tree felling.
