Study of W/O emulsion system using polymer type surfactant and application to cosmetic foundations

The important functions for make-up foundation are to give a beautiful finish,long lasting finish,UV protection and especially good feeling.The addition of ethanol to W/0 silicone emulsion gives good feeling but makes emulsion stabil-ity worse seriously.In this report,I introduced that the W/0 silicone emulsion which contained ethanol was stabilized by the amphiphilic polymer (OXP-SI).The emulsion obtained from the region of the particular silicone / ethanol ratio in which the polymer was dissolved extending was stable and had elastic properties.It was assumed that the polymer stabilized the emulsion by forming structure between emulsion particles.Cosmetic foundations this system applied to give good feeling and a beautiful finish.
