Our ISO14001 and company's environemntal management-Case studyon the acquisition of a ISO14001 certificate,the disposal/recycling of waste matter & reducing of energy

Recently global environmental problems have been attracting a great deal of social concern.Among them,the disposal/recycling of waste matter is regarded as one of the most essential problems.Economy has achieved remarkable development in Japan by means of "mass production/mass consumption,"With such a rapid advance in economy,the amount of waste matter exhausted from various industries ae increasing year by year.Under the circumstances,the conversion of the conventional economic system to "recycling type system" its advacated.And for the realizatio nof this change,various efforts are made in different fields and areas including legalrelations,socialsystem,and environmental education.In our company too,as one of the cosmetic manufacturers,we acknowledge the necessity of promoting the production activities that comply with such social trends.Therefore,our company as a whole has been dealing with such activities as Reduce,Reuse (reusing them as products or parts),Material Recycle (recycling tem as row materials),and ThermalRecycle (recyclilng them as heat recovery).As a part of theses activities,we obtained a ISO14001 certificate at Gunma factory in 2000 at first in our company,and established a recycling terminal at Sayama factory.By doing away with the conventional way of incineratio and striving for the improvement of reccling,we have realized certain anticipated results so far.We plan to notify these outcomes as well as the financial report in the"Environmental Report" to the environemtnal problems will be reported.
