treatment or plants with antibiotics spectiaomycin and streptomycin resulted in bleaching of green tissues due to inhibition of chlorophyll biosynthesis. This process has been shown to be irreversible in cruciferous plants Arabidopsis thaliana, Brassica napus, B. nigra, B. oleraceae and B. rapa. Under certain conditions in vitro, many tissues of treated plants become chlorophyll-deficient. Reproduction of the latter in culture alows generating pure lines of albino-plants which stably retain chlorophyll deficiency during further cultivation,
