Production of improved planting stock of commercial wild strawberry.

The complete production cycle of improved virus-free planting material of wild strawberry and commercial wild strawberry used at Krymsk Experimental Selection Station, Kransodar region, Russia is described. Shoot tip culture with subsequent clonal micropropagation is used to ensure production of virus-free seedlings. Stages of the scheme (shoot culture, quality control, nursery cultivation) are described. Data on economic efficiency of super elite wild strawberry cultivation of cultivars Yuzhanka and Marmolada are tabulated. The production system in designated super elite nurseries is highly profitable.
