摘要

The ontogeny of C. langsdorffii [C. purpurea subsp. langsdorffii] in natural populations and the structure of these populations were studied in 5 floodplain meadow communities of the lower Amur and the NE part of the central Amur plain in 1984-92. The condition of sample plants was assessed using 19 parameters of morphology, growth and net assimilation rate. The life cycle of plants and individual shoots is described in detail. In the meadow communities C. langsdorffii behaved as a perennial herbaceous polycarpic vegetatively mobile plant, forming loose clones. Its ramets showed considerable morphological variation and plasticity, ensuring their adaptability to floodplain conditions. The stability of the age structure of the coenopopulations combined with the dynamic vitality structure and the ontogenetic features ensured the prolonged existence of C. langsdorffii communities under floodplain conditions.
