We studied the influence of the wetting and germination of wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) seeds of the Saratovskaya 29 variety in the presence of indolylacetic, gibberellic, and abscisic acids and 6-benzylaminopurine on the dynamics of wheat germ lectin and abscisic acid in the seedlings. It is known that synthesis and content of lectin are controlled by abscisic acid. We have shown that all studied phytohormones are involved in regulation of the lectin level. However, the maximum accumulation of wheat lectin in the presence of auxin and benzylaminopurine was preceded by the increase in the level of abscisic acid induced by these hormones. In contrast, gibberellin appears to be directly involved in the control of wheat germ lectin accumulation, since it did not affect the abscisic acid content.
