The data on the proportion of blood cells in newborn pups (white coats), those who finished milk feeding and juvenile moulting; (beaters), as well as in adult harp seals of the White Sea population, are presented. Lymphocytes with cells that fulfill the functions of non-induced immunity (large granular lymphocytes) are not revealed in newborn harp seals. They have a lower number of mature differentiated leukocytes than beaters and adults. The elevated number of lymphocytes and their nucleous activity testify to the intensive formation of immunological functions. A high number of eosinophils is a distinguished feature of blood in adults and 3-4-year-old pups of harp seals migrated to the southwestern part of the White Sea. Possible reasons for the differences revealed are discussed.
