摘要

Asymmetrical periflexural exanthem of childhood (APEC) is an exanthem of unknown aetiology that was first reported by Brunner et al. in 1962. APEC is diagnosed by its distinct clinical presentation of development of a maculo-papular scarlatiniform eruption involving one axillary fold, with centrifugal spreading to the thorax and the other arm. Its aetiology has not been proven, but several of its features suggest a viral origin. We report a case of APEC associated with molluscum contagiosum virus (MCV) infection, suggesting this virus as a possible cause.
