Differentiation and a problem of moose (Artiodactyla, Cervidae, Alces) systematics.

摘要

Metrical and non-metrical features of moose from Europe, Siberia, the Far East and North America were studied. The animals were classified into 2 large groups: European moose (Europe, West Siberia) and American moose (North America, East Siberia andthe Far East). These differed in genetics, morphology, ethology and ecology. It is suggested that these groups correspond to 2 species, Alces alces L. (Europe, West Siberia) and A. americanus Clinton (North America, East Siberia and the Far East).
