Biogeography and diversity of silphid beetles (Coleoptera, Silphidae) in the Urals

The Ural silphid beetle fauna consists of twenty-four species. Two biogeographical borders dividing this fauna into three complexes (hypoarctic, forest, and forest-steppe) were revealed based on analyzing the species composition and abundance of ten local faunas in the Urals. A main trend of changes in the species composition and fauna diversity, directed from the south-west to the north-east, correlates with changes in air temperature and humidity.
