Short Survey on Virtual Backbone Construction in Mobile Ad Hoc Networks

摘要

The connected dominating set (CDS) is widely used as a virtual backbone in mobile ad hoc networks. In the past, many CDS construction schemes have been proposed for different design goals. Based on their nature, most of CDS protocols are categorized into either pruning-based or addition-based approaches. In this paper, we survey the existing CDS construction and/or maintenance protocols, and argue their technical basis.
