A basic study of buried pipe detection by horizontal polarization cross-borehole radar

Recently, HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling) is becoming important for installation of urban utilities. And the necessity of detecting more correctly the existence and depth of such utilities is increasing in this paper, the experimental result that horizontal polarization cross-hole radar is able to detect buried nonmetallic pipe with a depth of 1m and a diameter of 10cm is shown. And the consideration of an estimated performance by easy model calculation is shown.
