We propose a new layered belief-propagation (LBP) decoding algorithm which enhances both the convergence speed and recovering process of the decoding for the rate-compatible punctured low-density parity-check (RCP-LDPC) codes. The algorithm combines the conventional LBP decoding with the improved recovering algorithm proposed by the authors. While the conventional recovering algorithm needs much iterations to reveal all the punctured bits, the proposed decoding algorithm can recover these bits within one iteration. We show that the proposed decoding algorithm outperforms the conventional decoding algorithm in high coding rate in a few number of iterations.
