International standardization for fine ceramics and test method for flexural strength

摘要

Recent activities of international standardization for fine ceramics are referred. First of all, ISO standard of "Test Method for Flexural Strength", which is first JIS standard on property measurement for fine ceramics, is being planned. Thestandard of JIS is used very often to evaluate mechanical properties of fine ceramics, therefore, the specification of ISO standard must affect related fields. The works of ISO standardization on above mentioned "flexure test" are being put forward, based on comparison between JIS and western standards on accuracy and handiness. It should be taken proper measures to the differences between JIS and international standard planned, when the standard will soon be enacted.
