摘要

The lifetime of a specimen under cyclic loading is usually limited by the initiation and growth of microcracks. Experimental results for the austenitic stainless steel X6 CrNiNb 18-10 are given and a model for crack initiation and crack growth in the first grains of a polycrystalline aggregate is proposed.
