Performance Analysis for Smooth Handoff in Networks Simply Implementing Mobile IP

摘要

In this paper, we present the performance analysis for smooth handoff in networks simply implementing Mobile IP, which is designated to one of the handoff methods in 4G networks. We define some traffic parameters required for performance analysis on simple Mobile IP implementation, and then an analysis using a simple model is shown to clarify the relationship between the traffic parameters. Which parameter is essential for the network design and the QoS management, is also discussed. Finally, we mention the application for the real implementation.
