With faster wireless access speed, traffic which mobile backhaul networks need to support is also increasing. Microwave radio is widely used for the mobile backhaul networks and Adaptive Modulation and Coding (AMC) is one of the techniques used to increase overall capacity of wireless links. AMC can achieve better spectrum efficiency by changing its transmission parameters accordingly with the channel condition. However, because capacity of wireless links changes, it makes harder to route bandwidth guaranteed traffic which require stringent QoS. It is necessary to reroute traffic onto protection paths in case of unexpected capacity decrease in the working path. In this paper a partial disjoint protection for the networks with AMC-enabled wireless links is proposed. Proposed protection classifies link capacity based on its availabilities and use this classification to provide protection paths. We then study the effect of using correlation of degradation among wireless links in finding protection path/Simulation study is performed to evaluate the applicability of proposed protection.
