摘要

Sliding contacts are an important mechanical feature of various types of equipment including motors, electric trains, and artificial satellites. Moving parts in such equipment experience wear over time from friction, which eventually causes failure of the parts. There is a need for lubricants with low contact resistance to prevent malfunctions and unsure efficient operation. We examined a solid lubricant for electrical sliding contacts and measured coefficients of friction and contact resistance. A Cu-rider on a Cu-Rotational disk with a sliding velocity of 0.013 m/sec was used to study the characteristic of electrical sliding. A solid lubricant, molybdenum disulfide (MoS_2), was used between the electrical sliding contacts and the coefficient of friction and contact resistance were measured.
