摘要

In this paper, we consider optical crossconnect (OXC) with optical packet switching (OPS). The OXCs with OPS are used as edge and core nodes in wavelength routing network and realize optical packet switching as well as wavelength routing. Because the wavelength routing is realized in each OXC, the number of the input and output wavelengths used for optical packet switching affects optical packet loss probability and wavelength utilization factor. We construct an analytical model with Markov chain and derive optical packet loss probability at core node. In numerical examples, we show the validity of our approximation analysis and investigate how the number of output wavelengths used for OPS affects the optical packet loss probability.
