To be mobile and flexible, reachable at any time, always well-informed -this is the credo of today's society. Mobile phones and pocket PCs make allowance for this trend. They are no longer just used for calling but offer a multitude of other services like navigation and information systems. So route planners or city guides are already successfully used in practice. Applications for marketing organizations, infrastructure design, or for site planning are, however, still in their infancy. In order to utilize such applications in practice an exact location decision, an adequate visualization of the information, and a high robustness of the data must be realized. This is still a great challenge for the communication sector.
