摘要

Detection of trace chlorinated organic compounds including dioxin-precursors was demonstrated to improve combustion control for reducing dioxin emission by refuse incinerators. Ionization of precursors by vacuum ultraviolet light, enrichment by ion traps, and high resolution detection by time-of-flight mass spectrometry were combined in actual applications to simultaneous detection of precursors, real-time detection and high sensitivity. Detection sensitivity of 30 vol ppt was achieved by averaging four data of every 5s using a standard mono-chlorobenzene gas mixture. This sensitivity meets requirements for combustion control in dioxin emission reduction.
