Development of Commercial Helicopter MH2000

Commercial helicopters are considered hopefull as transportation vehicles suitable for operation in Japan, and their number is expecterd to increase in the future. During long investigations of basic helicopter technologies, we have established our own technologies. The RP 1 prototype has been developed since 1992 in order to combine element technologies and to demonstrate fundamental and distinctive technologies concerning noise, vibrations and safety. Based on these results, the MH 2000 development was started in April 1995. This is a 14 m long, 4 500 kg, standard 10-seat, multi-purpose twin-engine helicopter. Type certification by the Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Transport, Japan, is planned to b obtained in March 1997.
