MICROPROBE METHOD TO INVESTIGATE THE TYPE OF CHEMICAL BONDING OF CU ATOMS IN MINERALS

摘要

The X-ray spectroscopy method of microprobe analysis has been proposed to study the valency and the chemical bonding type of Cu atoms in different minerals (binary compounds). The method takes into account the L_(III) absorption coefficients additivity of ions of different sort in total absorption of Cu L_(alpha), L_(beta_1) lines. The absorption coefficients have been obtained from the measurements of L_(alpha), L_(beta_1) lines intensity ratio under two different electrons accelerating voltages. The values of Cu L_(alpha) and L_(beta_1) lines absorption coefficients and correlation between these coefficients are used to identify the valency and the chemical bonding type of Cu ions in minerals. Mono- and bivalent ions or relative concentrations of these ions, when both sorts occur in mineral, have been detected. The effective charges of Cu bivalent ions have been estimated.
