Complex spectroscopic study of trace elements and X-ray analysis of the lattice distorted metrics were realized for a substantial amount of quartz monocrystals taken from hydrothermal veins in the Urals. For preliminarily gamma-irradiated crystals, there were settled out five principal types of radiative coloring closely related to quantity and character of structural admixtures detected in a crystal. Investigation of admixtures within the row "colourless - smoky quartz - citrin" has shown gradual increase of Al~(3+), Li~+ and H~+ contents, but practically invariable Na~+ and K~+ concentrations. Non-structural admixtures of alkali aluminates are typical, in considerable quantity, for the lightly smoked varieties of quartz. Precision study of the quartz unit cell has shown that structural admixtures influence the lattice metrics as following: Al~(3+) increases parameter "c", Na~+ and K~+ ions make to increase the "a" parameter: H~+ and Li~+ ions have their ways of influence also. In general, obtained result: allow to improve earlier known typomorphic regulations, to use the c/a ratio value for evaluation of Al content in quartz, as well to estimate the degree of alkalinity in crystallization media.
