摘要

There are many steel liquid waste storage tanks in power plants and chemical plants. More than half of these are over twenty years old and are liable to waste leakage through rusted bottoms. If the waste is hazardous, in-situ time- and cost-effective inspection is required. But almost all liquid waste contains solid sludge and sometimes solid powder sludge accumulates to more than one third of the liquid depth. The author tested Lamb wave wide-range inspection for such an aged sludge tank. It was found that A{sub}0-node Lamb wave inspection was valid on leakage monitoring in such steel sludge tanks.
