摘要

A novel analytical method for determination of acetaldehyde using the JIS and JAS desiccator method has been developed that involves 2,4-dinitrophenylbydrazine derivatization and high performance liquid chromatograph (DNPH - HPLC) technique. The acetaldehyde values determined by the DNPH IIPLC method were in good agreement with those obtained by the other titration. The application of the method for the desiccator sample enables to detect and quantify acetaldehyde and other carbonyl compounds emitted from wood based materials and adhesives. In addition, the method made possible the detection of acetaldehyde emission from non-formaldehyde adhesives and the expansion of the desiccator method. The use of a new DNPH-HPLC method offers rapid and facile analysis for the detailed investigation of the acetaldehyde emission from various wood based materials and adhesives.
