New spot access services directed by NTT broadband platform, Inc. 'Wireless LAN Club'

NTT Broadband Platform, Inc. (NTT-BP) was founded in July, 2002 as a company which mainly develops the radio spot access services. As the first phase of deployment, the radio spot access trial "Wireless LAN Club" is carried out from August, 2002 in cooperation with Keio Electric Railway, Inc. and Keihin Electric Express Railway Co., Ltd. This paper describes the service concept and an outline of a "Wireless LAN Club" and shows the core technology supporting the trial. Furthermore, future deployment of a "Wireless LAN Club" is described.
