摘要

The authors have proposed soft-input/soft-output (SISO) decoding algorithm based on minimum distance search (MDS). The soft-outputs are calculated from a list of codewords which are generated by a local search for sub-codewords at minimum Hamming distance from the most likely codeword. In this report, we devised a new MDS using a structure of the set of minimum weight codewords of Reed-Muller codes. By simulation, the average decoding complexity of the MDS based SISO decoding algorithm is much smaller than those of trellis-based SISO decoding algorithms.
