The retrieval and the summary technologies of images based on structurizing the image are drawing attention. Up to now, the reports concerning such technologies mostly deal with the images with fixed screen structure such as sports and news. Such videos are structurized easily; however, the research on a general movie is extremely little. Under such circumstances, in order to enable structurization of movies, this report describes element technologies including person's shot size (following SS) extraction technique and an analytical method of an important scene which viewers feel impressed and get tense. An important scene of a movie remains easily in one's memory as a symbolical scene of the movie, and it can be harmonized with query when the movie is retrieved.
