摘要

"BSD (Ballistic electron Surface-emitting Display)," a novel electron emission device based on quasi-ballistic cold emission from porous polysilicon layer, has been developed. Experiment shows that the electron emission is stable up to 1 Pa, its efficiency is over 1 % and its trajectory is very narrow. This device is used to fabricate a 53 (RGB) × 40 pixel multicolor matrix display. The mechanism of electron emission is also discussed.
