Development of flowable herbicide dropper (part 1) -- flowable herbicide dropper with piston pump system

Improvement of environment and time saving are important needs of paddy farming system in Japan nowadays. For a solution, a flowable herbicide dropper with piston pump system has been developed. It is linked to a rice transplanter, and applysflowable herbicides while transplanting, rice seedlings. Neither different kinds of emulsifiable concentrates nor flowable herbicides showed any effect on discharge rate. The pipe line did not create any problem, provided it handled properly during andafter the use, even the machine was shut down for a long period.
