A Study on Information Processing Technologies of Manufacturing Systems for Global Manufacturing

An infrastructure of information processing technologies for information exchanges among enterprises, and information processing technologies for manufacturing systems are needed for global manufacturing. Therefore, a future business scenario for global manufacturing is proposed. The information processing technologies for inter-enterprise collaborations and manufacturing systems are discussed in this research. This paper describes the proposed business scenario. A prototype system of MES (Manufacturing Execution System) which can be connected with SCM (Supply Chain Management) is presented. Preparation for production, maintenance and consulting service for improvement using inter-enterprise corroboration as application systems of the information processing technologies for manufacturing systems are also proposed.
