GE Energy has said that electrification is expected to double over the next 20 years and one of the drivers of this mega trend is the oil and gas industry, which is fine-tuning its electrical systems for the more efficient extraction and transport of natural gas. Preparing for that trend, GE Energy acquired Converteam last September and created a new function inside the GE Group called the Power Conversion Business.
