The company introduced a new generation of software in 1997 that incorporated a native Windows interface, the Parasolid kernel, mold design, and integrated solid and surface modeling and machining. At that time, the Solid Manufacturing term was introduced to describe the new system and the VISI-CAD and VISI-CAM terms began to be phased out.
