System integrators are having a positive influence on the collaborative Product Definition management (cPDm) industry, and their role in the market continues to grow as use of the technology expands. In CIMdata's recent analysis, system integrators and resellers claimed 35 percent of the over 2.8 billion dollars spent by industrial organizations on software and services for cPDm implementations in 2000. These third-party organizations provide a wide range of consulting services to companies implementing complex computer systems. Large inter national players include Price-Waterhouse Coopers, CSC, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, KPMG, EDS, IBM Global Services, TRW, HP Consulting, and Siemens Business Services among others. Also, many regional integrators serve local markets and may expand glob ally. These include groups like gedas (part or Volkwagen), Debis (from Daimler), and Softlab (a BMW spin-off) in Germany, Euriware in France, and a host of others.
