About five years ago, the SolidWorks Corp. started a revolution in mechanical computer-aided design by offering a feature-based parametric solid modeler at approximately one-quarter the price of what was currently available. With a beginning like that, many companies would have found it hard to keep up the same level of excellence and innovation. However time after time, SolidWorks has proven that its initiation into the MCAD world wasn't a fluke, as it has continued a quest to take the software to higher levels. SolidWorks 2001 is the personification of this philosophy.
