Tracking the Space Station's Descent

When TsNIIMASH, the leading research institute associated with the Russian Aeronautics and Space Agency (Rosaviacosmos), decided to show the de-orbit and reentry of the MIR space station in the mission control center, Russian scientists selected technology from American company Analytical Graphics Inc. (AGI) to visualize the event. AGI received its invitation in part because its proven Satellite Tool Kit analysis and visualization software has become the aerospace industry's de facto standard, in use by major aerospace companies as well as NASA in the United States, Japan's NASDA, and the European Space Agency (ESA).
