摘要

Objective To study effects of liver hydrolysate (LH) containing various functional components which promote antioxidant and bioregulational effects on acute alcohol intoxication in mice. Methods To investigate the effects of LH on hepatic ethanol metabolism, LH (1g/kg body weight) were orally administered to 9-week-old male C3H/HeNCrj (C3H/He) mice (LH group) , followed by oral administration of ethanol(2 g/kg body weight). The changes in concentrations of ethanol, acetaldehyde and acetic acid in serum and activities of enzymes related to ethanol metabolism in the liver were measured from 0 to 5 hours after the ethanol administration. Results The concentrations of ethanol, acetaldehyde and acetic acid in serum of the LH group at 0.5, 2 and 3 hours after the ethanol administration were significantly lower than those of the control group (mice administered distilled water instead of LH) o The specific activities of alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH) , high-K_m aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) in the cytosolic fraction and low-K_m, high-K_m and total ALDH in the mitochondrial fraction of the LH group at 2 hours after the ethanol administration were significantly lower than those of the control group. Conclusion The present study demonstrates that oral administration of LH suppresses the increase in the serum concentration of acetaldehyde in mice. As acetaldehyde is considered to be a major contributing factor in the development of acute alcohol intoxication, the observed effects of LH may be relevant for symptom improvement in acute alcohol intoxication.
