OPTIMIZING AN ENGINE FOR GASEOUS FUELS: Wisconsin Motors TM27 engine coupled with GAC FIMS500 fuel, ignition management system

Wisconsin Motors has begun offering its TM27 engine for gas compression units and generators in the United States and international markets. The engine has been certified for gaseous-fueled applications using Governors America Corp.'s (GAC) FIMS500 fuel and ignition management system. With a maximum power output of 72 hp (53.7 kW), the Wisconsin Motors TM27 engine has four cylinders and a 2.7 L displacement. Wisconsin Motors is the manufacturer of record for the engine, which uses GAC's FIMS500 system to control fuel metering, speed governing and ignition timing. The FTMS500 comprises GAC's AFR200 series stoichiometric air-fuel ratio control module with integrated governor and the ICM200 series ignition controller. The system is designed to reduce engine emissions while minimizing fuel consumption. The engine package can also be optionally equipped with GAC's JDR100 series data and diagnostic trouble code reader in addition to on/start/run and speed control switches.
