The Errors of Testing and Sample Analysis Upon Certifying the Batches of the Secondary Raw Materials and Products Containing Precious Metals

Using the data of analysis of 2080 samples selected from 130 batches of 22 materials containing precious metals (secondary raw materials, semiproducts and nonclaimable waste) we have evaluated the parameters of errors of experimental determination of the mass fraction of the precious metals in the batch. It has been shown that the errors of the methods used in practice for testing in the process of certification of the raw materials containing precious metals substantially exceed the errors deter-mined at the stage of the sample analysis. Thus, the use of the data obtained makes it possible to refine the evaluation of the quality of the raw materials and products.
