Increasing reliability, decreasing downtime The purpose of this paper was to present a centrifugal compressor model-based anti-surge system (developed by Industrial Plant Consultants [IPC]) and compare it with a traditional anti-surge system. Furthermore, the upgrade of the existing architecture with the surge protection system (SPS) is presented. It will be shown since it is possible to upgrade the system relatively easily.
