The Gas Machinery Research Council (GMRC) has been busy this past year. With the growth of the natural gas compression industry, fueled by the surge in shale gas activity, it's no surprise. Craig Linn, GMRC's chairman of the board, said consumption in the United States is between 67 and 69 Bcfd (1.89 and 1.95×10~9 m~3/d), with growth anticipated to reach 100 Bcfd (2.8×10~9m~3/d)by 2020.
