摘要

For more than 20 years, interest in wet gas compression has steadily increased as exploration and production companies look to access unconventional gas fields and extend the production life of existing fields where reservoir pressures have declined. In both cases, the gas stream often contains a significant amount of liquid (water or hydrocarbon condensates) and requires some means of handling the wet gas. Most often, separation equipment is used and the pressures of the separated liquid and gas streams are boosted with pumps and compressors, respectively. For some applications though (e.g., subsea boosting applications), the increased footprint of separation equipment and multiple pumps and/or compressors may be detrimental.
