摘要

The solid and liquid material removed by snowmelt runoff over the surface of ploughed soils was characterized for the forest-steppe zone of West Siberia, Russia. From 3 to 170 kg of soluble carbon, 2-20 kg of calcium, and 1-4 kg of potassium per hectare were removed from slope soils. The rates of element losses depend on the soil type and the moisture conditions in the autumn. The loss of chemical elements resulted not only in the depletion of the plough layer, but also in the pollution of water basins and rivers.
