Carbon reserves in the undisturbed soils of the southern taiga (by the example of the Central Forest State Biospheric Reserve).

Data on carbon reserves in litter horizons and in the upper 1 m mineral layer of the soils in the title area of Tverskaya Oblast, Russia, are reported with consideration for the soil cover pattern. It is shown that the total amount of organic carbonin the soils is largely controlled by the soil water regime.
