Synthesis and X-ray crystal structure of [VCl_3((-)-sparteine)] and [FeCl_2((-)-sparteine)]

Novel complexes of vanadium (III), chrominum (III) and iron (II) containing the alkaloid (-)-sparteine as a bidentate ligand have been prepared. Two of them, [VCl_3((-)-sparteine)] and [FeCl_2((-)-sparteine)], were characterised by X-ray diffraction. Known cobalt (III) and nickel (II) analogue complexes were prepared using the same procedure.
