摘要

Japanese firms have developed a gas-to-liquids (GTL) process that for the first time allows natural gas containing carbon dioxide to be used directly in a GTL conversion. Until now GTL conversions on an industrial scale were produced through two main processes developed by Sasol and Shell. Both required large amounts of oxygen and, when the natural gas contained CO_2 (which contributes to global warming), the CO_2 had to be removed and stored.
